Petula Clark

I absolutely love this photo of Petula Clark, found in a 1969 Look magazine.

I love her mini-dress and I love the setting - how cute is she?
Just wanted to share it with you.
Hope this link works - click here to go to YouTube and see Petula sing "Downtown" (love it!) in a clip from Hullabaloo exactly 46 years ago yesterday!

I've had Downtown on my music player for quite a while. It's a great walking song.
We were such a naive, but fun generation.

Your blog is such a great place to take a walk down memory lane, Heidi! Where is that girl these days? She has a fabulous voice, and should still be making records. I mean CDs!

She's wonderful. 78 now, and by the time I go to see her in Paris in November, she will be 79... but she still rocks, and brings a huge theatre to its feet.

70 + years in showbiz and still tearing the place down on 4 continents.

Not bad Clarky.

LOL @ Paul.

I had to look up piker and Betty White I'm afraid Paul.

But now I have increased my vocabulary and learned about the amazing Ms White, I see what you are saying.

It's true. She did a tour of Australia and New Zealand towards the end of last year, followed by a concert in the USA and a French language concert in Quebec. After that she flew back to Europe to appear on a series of Italian, French and Swiss tv and radio to promote a new cd. Tht included an amazing performance on Micel Druker's "Vivement Dimache" show.

She's back in the States now, having done a show in Florida and is off to Canada for an English language concert.

I couldn't begin to keep up with her at half her age. She's certainly no slouch.
