Let Us Have COLOR For Christmas!

I know what you're thinking - "Why doesn't she make up her mind??" or maybe even "Does she want a white Christmas tree or does she want wild and wonderful color all over the place?"
You don't understand.
I want it all.
But today, I just felt like sharing some colorful ideas with you today, from my vintage magazines and books. These feature some great ideas for vibrant and unusual Christmas trees and decorations. This one is from a 1974 Better Homes and Gardens decorating book:
And this one is from a McCall's magazine:
Better Homes and Gardens again:
And from BHG yet again , circa 1968:

And another from the same year:
If you don't like any of those, you could always flock your tree and surround it with blue (from 1970 this time, also from BHG):

Have a cool Yule.

We decided on color this year. Usually I have my green tree with mostly white and blue since most of my glow in the dark ornaments are those colors. This year we are using various vintage ornaments of many colors. We kept it pretty simple, and only a few glow in the dark. Just changing it up a little. I am sure your tree is gorgeous, whatever color it is! Love T

I'm using a silver tree instead of a green one, but that's as adventurous as I'm going this year! I'd love to see YOU do a pink Christmas!

I love all of those but my favorite one is the third one down. That is absolutely beautiful. I really like the glossy, solid color wrapping paper and the tree...WOW!

i wish i could be like martha stewart - she has trees in almost every room at the holidays. but then i also wish for the 'housepeople' that help set up the trees & take them down too! lately i have been wishing for a 'light specialist' to come and decorate all the trees in our yard. (i wish for the $$$ to afford to have that too)

Wow - I love these! That Swedish tree is really charming (and how about those shag-carpet-covered stairs in the background?) So groovy!
